Melody Makers Choir
From Clarington
The Melody Makers began in the basement of one of their members back in 2019, starting with just 15 singers and growing steadily to their current 23‑voice ensemble. They perform popular, familiar songs that resonate especially well with senior audiences. Everyone is a member of Clarington PROBUS where they perform regularly (as well as regular performances at seniors' residences and community groups across Clarington and Durham).
Their goal is simple: to share their love of music with any local group that enjoys live entertainment. And they bring a wonderful spirit to their performances. Their mantra says it all:
“We may not be perfect, but there is beauty in the attempt. We might miss a key change, sing a few wrong notes or jump into the wrong verse, but as long as we do it loudly and together, it’s a masterpiece!”
This is Concert #3 - a part of our new PROBUS Mini‑Concert Series. Enjoy a set of relaxed, one‑hour afternoon concerts curated by Nigel Robertson, who leads the PMAG (PROBUS Music Appreciation Group) at Durham West PROBUS.
Each concert highlights a different musical genre, performed live at Harwood Chartwell, and offered to members of the Durham West, Ajax, and Pickering PROBUS clubs (plus unlimited guests). A fun, easy afternoon outing that brings our clubs together to enjoy great local music.
